Preparation entering the final innings 1

So Humpty has been on my case all day today. Why? Good question – ask Humpty. I have been diligently sitting here on the computer, working on a few things while she has been packing, calling credit card companies, and other travel related stuff. Perhaps she thinks I have been on the computer goofing off? Perhaps she thinks I have been checking Facebook? Perhaps she thinks I am just staring at the screen? Well, I would never…

But as I was working on all the computer related stuff (there was definitely a lot of work going on the computer, I assure you), I got distracted. It happens. But a good distracted. I wanted to see what clothes I had not yet packed away and make sure I had everything needed for the trip. I know, from all the blogs and articles I have read online, that one should pack super light and buy items in the countries you visit if you find you need them. But I am fond of my stuff (hence why Humpty is packing since she has been better about not getting distracted during the packing process).

So I went upstairs, into one of the increasingly empty rooms in the house, and decided to take inventory. I laid everything out, and took this picture.

Here is what I have so far:

Shoes: 1 Pair Flip Flops + 1 Pair Sneakers + 1 Pair Dress Shoes (which I cannot find at the moment – I hope we did not pack it!)

Jackets: 1 North Face Jacket for rain and cold + 1 Fleece.

Shirts: 3 button downs + 3 Short Sleeve T-Shirts + 2 Workout T-Shirts + 4 Long Sleeve T-Shirts

Shorts: 2 Casual Shorts (not pictured as they are either in the laundry or on my person at this moment) + 2 Athletic Shorts

Pants: 1 Casual White Pant (the really cool type Europeans wear on the beach with an open button shirt) + 1 Jean + 1 Khaki

Socks: 2 Dark Pairs + 3 White Athletic Pairs

Gloves: 1 Pair (I don’t know, just figure I might need them)

Hat: 1 Awesome Baseball hat, from last year’s road trip to Stowe, Vermont

I have yet to inventory the electronics and other items but I think it will include a laptop, iPad, 2 iPhones, digital camera, chargers and converters, and tons of battery and memory for camera. And a Timex watch. I spent the past few days downloading a bunch of books, mostly free books on Amazon, for the iPad and iPhone (Kindle App). I will have two manual notebooks, back up copies of key items such as passport, credit cards, etc, and a mini tripod for camera. And many credit cards – we have been scrambling to sign up for as many credit cards with free sign-on bonuses so we can hopefully get some help on flights and/or hotels.

As I write this, I feel like I probably have too much stuff. But as I go through everything, I have a hard time comprehending how this is going to be my entire wardrobe for the next 6 months..
